I got inspirations from the concept of Taiji. This design shows the life creation in a lasting circle, which is the truth of life in ancient Chinese philosophy.

Inspiration

It is said that Fuxi created Taiji through observing the world. His thought promotes an important category of Chinese philosophy.

Taiji generates yin and yang. When yang reaches breaking point, it becomes yin; similarly, reaching the limit of yin eventually drives yang to flow again. They seem opposite but actually are complementary.

Besides its philosophy meaning, Taiji also was used to record the motivation of the sun. Moreover, Taiji becomes an important part of Chinese divination, which can predict people's fortune.

Typography

Each character consists of two identical English letters of which the light side rotates clockwise to a reverse direction compared with the other side. Two distinct colors and rotational symmetric structures are derived from the yin and yang of Taiji.

Compass Game

The compass is inspired by the Chinese geomantic compass. It is made up of three independent rings with 26 English letters carved on each of them.

Lucky Cookie Package

By playing the compass, players would get three new letters, and there would be also a corresponding triangle drawer protruded with a package inside. Every package contains a poster that is about three-words proverbs, whose initials are the three letters that the participant has obtained from the game.
